Proposals for symposia may now be submitted for the 8th ECSR 2021. 

Please note that submissions can only be made online. Symposia are scheduled for 90 min and shall include 4 presentations and time for discussion at the end of the session. Chairs are kindly asked to submit proposals for symposia according to the topic list. All proposals submitted online will be considered by the Scientific Programme Committee. 

Notifications about acceptance or rejection of symposia will be sent by e-mail in March 2021. Speakers of accepted symposia will later be asked to submit individual abstracts for their presentations. 

All speakers and presenters are expected to declare any potential conflict of interest in the first slide of their presentation.

Please note that the conference does not provide any further financial support. Travel costs and accommodation should be self-financed.

Guidelines for symposia submission

  • To submit a symposium, please choose the presentation type "Symposium" only. 
  • Submissions shall include a descriptive abstract in English including learning objectives, names and affiliation of the chair and co-chair, names and affiliation of the 4 speakers and the titles of their presentation.
  • The maximum number of words for the descriptive symposium abstract including learning objectives is 300.
  • The submitter is asked to disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
  • As a chair, please make sure that you have received the acceptance of all speakers involved in the symposium.
  • A congress account is needed to submit a symposium proposal. Please create an account and register online.
  • Payment is not mandatory at the time of registration, but required by 31 July 2021 for all chairs and speakers in accepted symposia.
  • Respective abstracts shall only be submitted after the symposium has been accepted.
  • A symposium title shall be chosen that clearly indicates the content of the contribution.
  • Abbreviations shall be avoided in the title. They may be used in the text if they are defined when used first.
  • Please choose a track and a topic from the topic list.
  • Symposia proposals will be reviewed by the Scientific Programme Committee and by the Advisory Programme Committee with regard to quality of the content and relevance to the major topics of the conference.
  • Symposia involving speakers from more than one European country will be given priority.

Submit your Abstract for oral presentations and poster presentations

Abstracts for oral or poster presentation may also be submitted for the 8th ECSR 2021. 

Please note that submissions can only be made online. Submitted oral presentations will grouped by topics into thematic oral sessions of 90 min, including six papers each. Submitted poster presentations will as well be grouped by topics into thematic guided poster sessions, led by senior scientists. Each poster presenter will be asked to give a brief presentation of 3 min in front of his poster.

All submissions will be reviewed by the Scientific Programme Committee and scheduled as oral or poster presentations.
